Try pulling the entire idle up thing off the bottom of the throttle and plating it off. Maybe it's jammed open/stuffed.

Big port 4AGE, running an AE82 ecu.. timing set at 15 deg BTDC (does the same even at 10) car idles at about 2K.. the motor has been pulled out and resealed top to bottom, is running a T-vis plate but the Tvis is not hooked in.. the idle screw on the TB is wound right down, this is the second throttle body i have tried, TPS seems to be in check, and even when disconnected runs the same.. the MAP sensor when unplugged the car idles lower.. but obviously on the rich side, tried hooking up another map sensor.. same thing.. the fuel reg vac line was blocked off, fixed that.. still idles high, is there somthing i am over looking?? at first we all thought manifold leak.. but it has been resealed top to bottom.. as in engine out full gasket kit engine back in!
the coolent lines on the bottom of the throttle body are disconnected, but blanked off.. maybe i should be looking at this closer?? although i have never had a problem whit this befor??

that was next on the list... i also thought it could be a leaking injector seal.. cos the motor was from the wreckers..
the only seals/gaskets that have not been replaced on the motor are the injector seals (o rings) and the seal between the throttle body and the plennum...
on a lighter note.. Hen ur sig rocks... 15yo keyboard warrior FTW!! (reminds me a little of my boostcruising days lol)
my apologies the TB - Plennum seal was done previously![]()
yeh homo.. i didn't cut my finger getting that old gasket off for nothing!!
my mistake... i figured u were doing it for some more "Emo Spec" points.
Mine does the same thing, do you connect the water lines together or block them off when removing the aux air valve from the throttle body? Mine also stalls if i put my finger over the air port, is it because the idle screw is all the way down? Sorry i couldn't help matt, i'll let you know if i find anything, chances are we have unrelated problems though.
Mine used to do this, you need to remove the whole idle up valve thingy from the bottom of the TB, use the removed valve as a stencil and cut a piece of aluminium to size, mark and drill holes, cut some gasket paper to size, spray with some holomar or other gasket goo tighten it up and adjust idle!
If you are running a bigport intake with no TVIS this can sometimes cause a problem and not seal up properly, I think it is around cyl 1?
Have you tried spraying water or WD40 around the intake to find leaks?
Cheers.

Water or WD40, never heard of that one. Carby cleaner sprayed all over the joint will reviel any vacumm leaks.
But i would make sure all vacumm lines are the correct sizing, maybe even cabletie the fooker on so they are tight. Ive had a leak like that before.
What is the car like to drive, any knocks or hickups.
Insert witty comment here....
nope goes hard.. but i will do the throttle body plate.. can't hurt..
