    which way would be cheaper to buy an 86?

    buy a shell & then buy a halfcut & put running gear into shell?

    or

    buy sprinter complete?

    Buy best looking JDM you can find, I'm saving for new trueno, not fucking around with sun damaged aus spec crap anymore. Plus JDM looks better and has more goodies, plus nothing like full black JDM interior
    Just wait and save up something already done up and then do it up more, save money and effort in the end.

    the big question is, how much work are you prepared to do yourself?

    if you intend on paying someone to do everything on your car, then obviously buying a car that is already done, is going to be heaps cheaper.

    but if you have the ability and are keen to do all the work yourself, then the the shell + half cut. is going to be a muuuchhhh cheaper option. plus its more fun building up your own car, than selling your soul to buy someone elses pride and joy.

    thats my opinion anyway

    I went with buy complete beacuse alot of the already built sprinters you see for sale are bargains compared to whats been put into them.

    Doing all the work yourself generally saves alot of money theroretically on cars, if i were to buy or when i decide to i would be buying one to do up my self as im a firm beleiver in making your car your own... not getting someone else's project and using that.

    However it seems that all the ae86s that have the good parts, regardless of doing the work them selves they seem to be loosing thousands on the sales of the car... its criminal really

    buy = cheaper.

    build = More - fun, headaches, $$, time.

    I'm still building (1 year).

    If you wanna drive it quickly.....buy.

    Theres huge difference compared to 86 and silvia, so im sure you need to save some coin to get what you want.
