I curently have my 20v head pulled apart to replace my head gasket and have the option of upgrading some of my engine hardware.
Before I go on my goal for my 20v sprinter is to build a durable reliable engine that i can trash as much as i want, with that in mind I also know that with upgrading engine parts it may put more stress on OEM parts.
Im going to use a TRD head gasket and perhaps upgrade to ACL forged pistons, How will this effect my stock 20v?? (pros and cons?)
Im not sure how much spirited driving the stock engine can handle, I plan to do heaps of it.
are there any other worth while upgrades to my 20v internals I should consider?
by the way, my 20v for the moment will stay n/a
while the acl pistons are a quality peice of hardware they are turbo pistons, in other words low compression at 8.5:1. So you wil lose cosiderable power everywhere. I think the stock parts are great, I rev my engine every single day and it keeps on going. If it wears out get some more rings and bearings they are cheap.

I agree with Sam Q. I rev mine everyday. Plus the clubman guys give there motors hell, on the street and track, and i havent heard of them having any problems with standard equipment.

a little off topic but what does a stock silvertop rev to standard with aftermarket ecu?

Yeah my hard limiter is set to 8200. I havent hit that yet but.
off topic aswell, but while the topic is on 20v engines.
i heard a rumour that when converting it to rwd you need an aftermarket computer and coil packs so it can run. is this true or is it b.s?

but i need to keep the engine standard so i can drive it. for p plates that the new laws coming in (nsw)
There are DLI converter's for the standard computer to run coil packs, you just have to be lucky to find one. If you're still a P plater it may be worth thinking about putting the money into the suspension if you haven't modded it yet.
