Big Port Cams vs Small Port

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can use the bigport cams in a small port? They seem to be the same size but the bigport has more lift.

yes they're interchangeable. I have a set for sale if you're interested.

big port cams are 242 degrees whereas small port are 232 degrees

big port are 240deg duration advertised, and 7.56mm lift..

smallport/gze cams are 232 deg and 7.1mm lift..

small gain from adding the bigport cams.. not much.. but hey.. every hp counts in an 86!!

Yeah i think its worth doing, im just swapping over a dying bigport for a healthy new small port. Do you think any other changes are needed, i.e valve springs etc. or is it pretty much a straight swap???

My jdm ecu is already programmed for bigport cams so it should be ok.

possibly shims.. just check your clearences.. in should be .25mm and ex should be .35mm.. other that than that nothing..
