hopse i dont have this problem when i do my conversion..ive never heard of these spacers. but its a good idea in this case..mabey you should invent some if no1 else has b4,,make some extra dosh on the side lol
Afternoon ladies,
Have a little issue, i recently installed s13 front suspension into an ae86. all worked perfectly.
the only issue though... is the cusco coilovers i used were extremely short in length. So with them wound up to max hight, the car is slammed, making it extremely hard to fit wheels without scrubbing issue. Have a set of 14x7 o offset and they stick out the guards with the guard already pumped out to the max.
Now, i dont want to buy another set of coilovers, and i need to fit these wheels, and i dont want to put flares on or wide guards. So my question is, has anyone made up spacers for the top of the ae86 strut tops, to sit in between the top and the guard to space the hight of the strut lower increasing the overall ride hight?
im thinking a spacer of 1 inch with longer studs in the strut top to compensate.
Does anyone make these? or will i need to pull a top off and make a diagram and have it made by an aluminium shop?
cheers
David

err, buy new coilovers
Are you sure of this? With MX62 LCAs I run 15x6 +24 offset with stock guards. They just fill them perfectly and don't rub at all.
Your wheels will sit a total of 37mm further outboard by the numbers given, so I reckon you should be able to flare your guards to make it work.
Other than that, a thick spacer above the strut top inside the strut tower should work.

yeah im sure, the thing is slammed, ive already flared thr fronts, but im going to get my hammer and dolly out again and stretch them further.
failing that, spacer up top will fix it, just gotta get them machined by someone.
