    Question

A well known member of this forum, too embarassed to be named, decided some understeer in the wet would be fun, mounting the gutter and bending the lower control arm, front sway bar, tie rods and possibly some other shit. What would be the best solution for replacing these parts in the quickest and easiest manner knowing pick and payless is just around the corner. What would be the best 'bang for buck' replacements? Corona lower control arms? What other parts can be salvaged off other vehicles, knowing that sprinters arent avalible. With Corona arms in place, will this affect using stock steering rack and swaybar? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

xt130 arms are your saviour. they will fit in without having to mod all the steering gear and they will give a little neg camber.

easy to come by also. i would recommend fitting new bushes and balljoints tho

raid a ke70 all parts are compatable. you'll just have to fit your 86 steering arms onto the ke70 lca's as the bolt spacing is different

Someone did the same thing in my car about a year ago, i replaced the control arms and found that they still didnt line up with the holes for the caster rod etc, from memory i replaced the engine cross member (incase mounts were bent too) and threw some sigma arms in for MAX camber
I think its fixed, i dunno, maybe my whole front end is still fuked

Someone understeered my old Corolla wagon once also. Chassis was bent, sent to wrecker.

The same person understeered my old corolla coupe. Chassis bent but sent to bodyworks for $1000 repair. Plus new control arm.

Someone else did the same in a Skiline R31. Bent chassis, sent to wrecker.

Take a good look at the chassis rails in the engine bay. Cracked paint? And if it is a AE86, it will be worth fixing and getting the body straitened. Maybe expensive but it will be worth it eventualy.

Too many AE86's are being crushed. Don't crush a AE86 shell!, put it aside and fix in a few years when you can afford it.

no just the rod itself, you take the tube from an ra40 or something of similar lenght and can reuse the rod ends from your sprinter if they are still in decent condition.

use the tie rods (tube thing) and tierod ends from a ra40 or xt130 (same shit)

these are longer than the 86 tie rods which makes em better (+ more easy to adjust)
