wiring to a switch SHOULD include a relay - you don't want the power for the fan running through some crappy switch in the dashboard setting everything alight.

don't rely on yourself turning the fan on and off or you'll forget and cook it. at least make it always on while the ignition is on.

there should be some switch you can pilfer from another car that goes to ground when the water temp gets to a certain degrees.

i'm sure there's plenty of 4ac fan clutches floating around on an ae86 forum. i think i threw mine in the bin.

a thermo fan is an upgrade if you can figure out a way of turning it on and off with rising/falling temperature.

i have a supercheap thermofan in my car, and i made a little temperature switch to control it.

as devolutio said you can prolly get a controller of some sort from a FWD car

but i would just get another clutch fan and stick it back on, saves all the effort for not much gain.
