I picked up a 100kw out of an ae92 for free....
Was running but had a suspected BHG.
I have started stripping engine and will have the head sent off to a head shop for cleaning and servincing as need be....
Block will be cleaned as best as possible with whatever i have access to. I only intend to use this as a daily driver but may decide to use gze pistons for a low boost application. At the least, new rings, big end and main bearings, and all gaskets/seals will be replaced.
I hope to do most of the work myself (first time rebuilding engine) and will be doing alot of research along the way. I will appreciate any info/advice from anyone who has any experience in rebuilding these engines. I have plenty of tools and what i dont own, i will either buy or have access to via friends.
Which brands of parts should i use?
Which shops in Sydney should i use to to do any required honing/machining work?
Anyone feel like giving me a hand? haha... no harm in asking
At the end of the day, i want to be using as little as possible as my main project (v12 supra) is higher on my cash allocation table.

exactly what Im about to do also.. over a few months.. a little work though, cant really give any pointers as its my 1st time doing a rebuild also... should be fun..
i used ACL and genuine toyota parts on my GZE rebuild. had no dramas at all.
i also used a HKS headgasket, ARP studs through out the entire engine and a genuine oil pump (brand new).
can you give prices off the top of your head???
Again, i want to use as little as possible....
it wasnt cheap. and i got discount cause im in the industry. ARP studs was over 400 alone.
gasket set was a few hundred, 250 i think. i would use an ACL gasket set tho. and ACL bearings
for prices see . all parts usually in stock
I machine motors for a living. Though at my new job it's a hell of a lot harder to do motors for my friends / associates then it was at my old job..
