Hahahah! this thread is great.
whats pay like for aircraft techs?
yeah its fair shit for apprentices but once your licenced pay is pretty good ranges where you are but where i am dudes are earning in the area of 100gs. mind you you got to take into consideration that you only work 4 days and then have 4 days off so realistically speaking you work half a year![]()
i got shot with my own paslode frame gun.. pierced my skin in my backstuck in about 10mm.. from another chippy shooting me for a laugh.. it wasnt funny.. ( ok so maybe a little bit).. i also burnt my eyeball at work, went blind for 3 days. that wasnt very fun
i now officially dont like carpentry.. haha bring on real estate..
100g b4 tax??? what hours they do for the 4 days? like 10 hour shifts?? day shifts or rostered day and night combo's?? hourly rates employee or wage or subby?
dunno how much it works out to be before/after tax but i wont lie they are earning good money. the shifts are 11 hour shifts which consist of 2 morning shifts and 2 arvo shifts. dunno bout hourly rates etc...
Like he said, depends who you work for. can be really good, also depends on you level of licencing and how many ticket you have. get your LAME's and you get heaps better pay, im working towards that as i do my apprenticeship and its heaps of extra study and exams on top of your regular stuff plus its around $130 per exam you sit
