Yes its true, the dude canned it, he is a wanker, to him it is all about the coin unfortunately. He can make more money out of HPi so he is just going to publish that. Lets hope there is a decent amount of drift coverage in that....

Got the new issue no. 20 drift battle.
On the fist page it says that drift battle is no more, Ben has decided too much money is coming out of his pocket and its just not making profit.
Just wondering if anyone has read it yet?
I am thinking, i got a full year left of subscription, i better b getting a refund or sumfin. :@

dam it!!! that was the only mag i was going to buy when my hpi sub. runs out.
hpi is boring as all hell now, all thats in it is silvias skylines and supras. errr i dont want to pay to see the norm, different is the key!

In all fairness, Ben has been paying for this with his own money and didn't once turn over a profit. I don't blame him for canning it. HPI still covers some of the stuff and it's monthly so it's not 4 to 5 odd months behind on stuff like Drift Battle.
I don't want to see it go but unless you want to pay more for old news every 2 months, nothing can be done about it.

Driftbattle was just an otomoto catalogue and fitting guide, wth previews for HPI videos.
There is no way they ever had enough content to keep Zoom, DB and HPI all going. HPI had as much drifting in it before DB appeared, I still don't understand how they made 2 magazines out of it.
DB was just a near quarterly collection of the monthly/bi monthly drift stuff from HPI really.
That sucks i use to get so excited when i bought the latest Drift battle mag i loved them. They taught me alot about drift cars and the world of drifting its disapointing to hear they want be making them any more the only issue i dont have is number 1.

Yeah Ben did can it, not because of the coin, but because of the amount of idiots in the industry, and that Express Publications felt like it wasnt making enough prophit.
He hasnt got anything to do with any of the magazines anymore, since he quit from doing HPI and Zoom aswell.
And since express has already sacked the latest publisher there is not much future for HPI aswell, i think it only has under 20 issues left.
