I've heard that the GTV and GT-Apex steering racks are supposedly a quicker rack than the ADM one?
Is this true and if so, would it act just like the Quaife Quick rack and not allow the use of Powersteering Arms AND lock spacers? Because of the limited amount of teeth.
    Thanks in advance,

    Ken

    EDIT: sorry

The manual steering rack and pinion is the same on most AE86/AE85. LHD is different of course.

The pinion is the same for all manual steering, except for LHD.

But the GTV has a different rack, different part #. But it has the same pinion. Not sure how its different, I don't have one to check. Please send me a GTV rack.

The GTV tie rod ends also have a different part number. But the rack ends are the same (which are also same as early P/S ones.)

You have power steering, make sure the pump is working.

Connect a powersteering pressure gauge, the special one that you don't have. You should have 65 kg/cm^2 with the steering wheel on full lock.

It maybe easier for you to take the powersteering belt off, and see if the steering feels the same.

    More info from the net:

GTV is the only 86 with the Quick Steering Rack (Like Jonny said)

Steering rack changed slightly, slightly smaller, with larger bushings to compensate when mounting

    Quick Steering Ratio (Lock-to-Lock : 3.0 Turns)
