No difference at all, aside from the intake/cooling setup. The additional KWs come from the ECU.
Eddie.
whats the difference between an ADM bigport short motor and a JDM bigport short motor.....i no 1 is supposed to be 88kw and one is 96kw but really what other differences are there internally..
4age 16v btw

4agte finally finished. 252rwkw with more to come
so theoretically if you have a JDM RWD 4age 16v bigport setup in your 86 you could replace that short motor with an aussie FWD bigport short motor and itd be exactly the same?? no power diff either??
Jap use i higer octain fuel than aus and there ecu's are tuned to suit it from factory hence more power
all engines wil be different some how e.g how theyve been looked after, k's. A thrashed jdm bigport wont have as much power than a low k's well maintained aus fwd bigport.
but my above example should work fine if say they r both same condition, just swapping the short motor using all the JDM shit
yes, i was going to say that on msnput all your RWD gear on an aus spec AE82 bigport.
lol or other way round...rip my jdm engine out and put in an aussie 1
Step one rip out jdm engine pull off intake manni ecu wiring and replace on to aus spec bigport.
booyah thanx heaps. i was thinking bout replacing my engine and i was tryna find a JDM bigport as thats what i had. i thought maybe they were different as the hp is diff. but as all you guys stated they are the same the only reason for the power difference is the cooling and ecu differences the JDM n ADM bigport have.
cheers thanx all
ive driven with a jdm ecu and an adm ecu and found the jdm to less economic no more power
