Has anyone here got a remote starter car alarm running on their hachi?
dumb idea. It kills the shit out of your starter throughout time.
you`d expect it to put strain on the starter but
starters arnt that expensive and considering in winter a normal warmup takes about 5 mins im happy to pay for a starter so i dont have sit in my car waiting.
has anyone actually got one of these or had it running properly ?
instead of waiting 5 minutes or maybe lesser on a winter morning, you would rather just buy a new starter motor every time it dies because of your impatience with running a remote control starter uperer? thats just whack
yeh so i can safely assume no one on this board has every installed one or got one running in theirs?
and yeh your right a starter is way to difficult to find and soo hard to replace and it would probably break instantly or over a period of about a year.
the convenience of not waiting for the car when im in a rush isnt worth it.
thanks anyway
its better to warm up a car by driving it at low rpm anyways....
May someone exlpain to me why remote starting a car wears out the starter motor quicker?
I am running one on my 86 and also whats it got to do with wearing my starter motor out quicker??? Its irrelevant where it gets its signal from

Im assuming you have to leave the car in neutral at all times for this to happen?
Id definetaly forget and launch my car through the garage door 4 mornings out of 5....
yep neutral or clutch in, but clutch in prolly wont work if you want a REMOTE start![]()
i dunno where you getting the "ruin starter motor" thing from. unless the starter keeps goin after the car is started, and makes that ugly noise if you turn the key for too long.
i dont have one, but if i did, theres no way i would without making some sort of switching mechanism on the gearstick to make sure the car is in neutral. few micro switches should do it. but yeah i don't reallly see the point to it, so long as you dont thrash your car when its cold, no harm in driving it slowly when its cold.
very large wank factor for carparks though![]()
