Im running 7.5 -1 14inch rims on the front on my T-18 and the rear of the tyre scraps the rear (i guess you would call it the fire wall) when on full lock. The car is not lowerd in the front yet. Im not running power steering arms or lock spacer but have them and want to rum them.
I have been to to my local tyre shop and spoke to them about adding some caster but they said there isnt enough adjustment in the arm to make any differnce. I have rose jointed adjustable tuneagent caster arms but rego runs out in august and i know you cannot pass rego with rosejoints ( well that is my understanding ) so i want to wait till after then till i put them in.
Is there anything i can do to stop the tyre from rubbing??? I am running 205/60/14 tyres which came with the rims i was thinking of trying to get a lower profile tyre and see if that worked but that would be the expensive way. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated.
Also i have removed the inner guards from the front and i was just wondering if there was any wires or plugs i needed to cover up so as the dont get wet?

    Thanks

can you take a pic of your car at full lock and then at the stop where it rubs with the tyre out of the way, I think i might know the problem.

By the way find a new tyre shop because your current one is full of it

If it's rubbing on the chassis rail then you're a bit stuck, short of getting spacers/new wheels/longer LCAs.

If however it is rubbing on the firewally part BEHIND the wheel then winding in the castor should pull the wheel forward, improving the situation.

And I second the suggestion of finding a new tyre shop. But it any case you can adjust the caster yourself, to see if it works, then just get an alignment for fine adjustment.

The first thing is to go back to 185/60/14 tyres. This will give a fair bit more room.

Next, look at your wheel offset. If you can't fit a finger between the tyre and the strut you can space it out a bit with a wheel spacer, provided your studs are long enough.

Bend over any sharp bits in the wheel well area with a hammer.

Then if everything else is done, mayabe get longer lower control arms. Try KE30 arms, or cut and weld them longer.

yeah man like jonny said, those tyres are waaaayy too big, they must look like balloons on your car, i had 205,60R15 on my car, and it rubbed like crazy, got some 195/50's and it NEVER scrubs now (ke70 btw)

but yeah bashing in any seams near the tyre is a good idea, just in case it rubs, as those things like to eat tyres...quickly

    Thanks all for the help.
I might look at trying to put 185 GIII on as thats what i have on the rear on a MA61 rim.
The only reason i put them on the front is they scrubed on the rear with TRD 6kg springs and TRD 8 way adjustable shocks.
The 185's on the rear now dont scrub so think i will see if i put the 7" on the front and they dont scrub then i will go with 185's on 7.5 and swap them around to the back.
So will be 7.5 on rear and 7 on the front running GIII 185/60/14 all round .
Does it matter if water and dirt get up into the wiring that the inner guard protected?
