Ive been thinking of getting 15x7 for a while now for my 86...
But Ive been thinking ..
- I dont have power steering - 1 inch width could make a load of difference when doing slow manuevers. Its hard enough to turn already with my stockers and no power steering.
- Wider = Better grip, but slower accerlation?
Im still running a 4ac, will run 4ag eventually, but in the short term, its gonna be slower than it alreayd is?
- Need more braking power?
- Tyres are more expensive when going wider
Seems like no one thinks 15x6s are any good?
Who acutally runs 15x6's ?
Any one got photos to show what the width they look like on the car?
(I know fatter looks far better.)

Hard to turn? Pfft, come back when you have power steering arms and a 330mm steering wheel...

suspension and mags makes steering lighter, no shit
increased track makes steering lighter (sigma, corona arms, less postive offset rims)
p/s arms and quick racks make steering heavier
the amount of tyre on the road will increase steering effort, so you could run a 205/50 on a 6 inch rim and a 195/50 on a 7 inch rim and the 7 be a easier rim to turn.

Interesting? I would have thought the purpose of P/s is to make steering less of an effort.
I always thought that 6" wheels needed 195s and 7" ->205
What if i just ran 6" 195s on the from and 7" 205s on the rear?
Would that ruin the balance?
What offset are 15x6 superlites?
ok i ran 15x8's with a 205 tyre, and the steering was ok, now i have same but with 195's and its mint in comparison, depends what you do with your car, as far as im concerned the more rubber and track width the better for the cars stability
ignore the fact i changed from 205 to 195, im just a stretch fiend
dam man fuk who cares how hard it is to turn on low speed bigger the better for going fast
P.S yeah 8inch fronts and 9inch rears with a 2way TRD lsd make a 3point turn 1 HELL OF A JOB!!!!!!
Less steering effort with longer arms could be just the neg camber and bugger all tyre contact patch on the road.
Big steering wheel helps too, especially with wide tyres,locker and in my case a steering box
When I ran 14x6 wheels, 196/60 rubber, i was getting tyre roll, felt like the rim was trying to peel the tyre off.

get the 7's.. put 195's on them (EASILY, i have 7.5's with 185's on them)
wider wheels wont effect your cars acceleration nearly as much as you think, and if your taking an inch off your wheels to go faster you have bigger problems.
chances are you WONT need more braking power, 15 inch rims are bigger than 13's (surprise surprise) so if your rolling diameters going to change its going to get bigger = wheel turning slower = brakes don't have to work as hard
195/50 tires are going to cost the same whether you put them on 6's 7's 8's..
also gilly said THE ARMS not power steering, just the steering arms
