^^ i can see where your coming from, knowone wants to drive my car cause the steering is too heavy![]()
my setup is, ke70, s13 front end (i hear its simliar to ae86 power steering arms?), 15x7" rims i think, with 195/50 tyres, and a home made wheel alignemnt that scrubs my front tyres like crazy but they are crap tyres anyway![]()
the steering is quite heavy, i dont have much trouble in car parks, but ive always had non power steering, so i guess im used to it. dry steering is a non event. im yet to do a 3-point turn, as my car has so much lock i just turn around no the spot almost(nah just kidding, 3-point turns are ok, so long as you dont dry stear)
Remember the tyre determines how hard it is to turn, cause its the amount of tyre on the ground that resists turning, not the width of the rim."
talking purely non powerstering terms-
my oppinoin is that any wider rim than standard (standard is like 5" maybe?) is obviously gonna be harder to turn the wheel, ESPECIALLY at uber low speeds. and when starting to add parts (power steering arms, whatever increases lock) its gonna get harder again, theres really no way of avoiding it.
only way to make it "easier to turn" at low speeds, would be to either decrease the tyres width, or dial in a CRAPLOAD of negative camber that gets the rubber off the ground. also make sure you get a decent wheel alignment, makes a massive difference.
my oppinion anyway
easy solution - dont go shopping at carparks, order all your food over the internet![]()
