Thread: where does everyone get there 4ages?

    as the name suggests i wanna know where you all get ur 4age's.

    theres always dudes that have a new 4age or gze or 20v but they rarely tell where they got it from and im wondering where u get them from

    and where are some good places that import them or sell them?

    i know of japparts.com but they said they can only supply me a 4age silver top or black top or gze in half cut form and i dont really want a half cut top be honest

    any help would be appreciated

    sometimes 4AGE's pop up for sale here on the forum but you can also sometimes find them in your local Trading Post or even on eBay. Or you could look for a wrecked AE82 or AE92 Twincam Corolla for cheap, pull the 4AGE out and sell all the other bits you don't need and buy RWD bits to fit your 4AGE into a Sprinter/*E7*.

    Lots of import places have a few 4A-GEs on a crate. I got mine ordered from JDS (hobart only). Other ones are Rollin Imports, Toyospares? Adelaide Jap? I forgot all of them now, now I have no need for their services. Get a old Zoom or Hot4s magazine and look through all the adds.

    While we're on the topic, what is average price to pay for a reco/low km, complete 16v?

    Just looking for a ballpark figure. Cheers.

    Got mine off ebay for $250, bargain....but that was no computer, loom or anything else really, just a long motor with a bellhousing and an inlet manifold

    I've seen 4ages commercially for between $750 for a bare motor to $1500 for motor/computer package, thats for a 16v though, in NSW

    Cool, thanks. I'll probably pick up a bare motor and some carbs If I can afford them.

    buying a half cut is actually a pretty good idea, saves searching for thousands of obscure bits to finish the conversion

    Yeah I'm weighing up running mine on carbs or efi.

    Do lots and lots and lots of research before you go down the carbs path, it's been done plenty but the number of people who are willing to tune carbs is getting lower everyday

    but what do i do with the rest of the half cut when ive got the engine put of it?
