okay... im removing the left rear wheelhub because one of the studs snapped!
but im stuck on how to remove the damn thing!
heres a pic of where im up to-
this is my 1st time changing them... so im keen to learn how to do this

piss easy, you see those two big holes in the hub?
behind them will be 4 nuts (you need to spin the hub to get at them all) that bolt a flange plate to the axle flange.
undo all of them, then pull the axle out, this will invilve either using a slide hammer or a brake drum.
be careful as the brake shoes might try to fall off.

And the stud comes out by wacking it with a hammer. Only as hard as you need to though.
Since you have snapped it shorter, may not need to pull the axle out to remove it, though presumably will need to when putting one back in.
Get another from pickapart. Easiest to find a donor with discs so you don't need to pull another axle out to get the stud off. Can't imagine a stud would cost much from Toyota though if you can't be fagged.
Put it in place, put a large washer over it, put a wheel nut on backward and gradually tighten it to pull the stud into place.

though i found the snap stud on the road just before my driveway o_O
i think it snapped coz there might havnt of been a lug nut on it? coz i didnt find one with the stud lol

may as well buy a new stud through toyota.
theyre only a couple of dollars im pretty sure.
can get a new stud from repco or similar
or you can go to pick a part and get one from there
or find a magna/sigma and get the studs off there (theyre a bit longer than the standard ae/ke studs)
before u remove the axle u may as well bash the old stud out.
if you have trouble sliding the axle out, you can try bolting a wheel on backwards and kicking it out.
works everytime for me. make sure your car is firmly supported on proper stands though
installing the new stud is easy
as mentioned above all you need to do is tighten a nut up and it will pull it tight and nice and square.
id recommend e genuine stud.
i bought a couple from repco and they were disgusting. the quality was dismal.
toyota spares ftw.
replace your rear wheel cylinders while you're at it, from the looks of it they're leaking. $30 pr from your local brake shop

i sprayed the whole thing with degreasers =P
there was heaps of build up and dust
