    Default Quick susp question...

Ok, so I have an SA63 Celica project car...Yes, I know, not an 86 but ironically, given their prices when released, I am doing up the Celica because I cannot afford an 86...

So anyway, without having to get custom Proflex susp, next to NO ONE has on the shelf aftermarket suspension for my celica...

So, my question is, are the strut mounting points on an AE86 of similar size to my celica's?

Here is a crappy diagram of the celicas stud layout

The exterior measurement from stud to stud is 118.20mm
And the studs are 9.8mm on the thread...so call it 10mm...

Would really appreciate Factual info, rather than "I think so's"...

    Cheers guys

im guessing you want to run 86 stuff in ur celica...

just measured.... centre of stud to centre of stud and was 110mm, outside studs was 115/116mm and studs were. 7/8mm?its dark out?

best bets to get a strut top from somewhere and see if it lines up.

The AE86 strut top does not bolt into a SA63, it is different. It has 8mm studs. But this does not matter. Buy AE86 suspension if you want. You have to drill holes in your Celica. No big problem.

If they are the same as RA40 / RA60, Cusco do a camber top to fit.

Check this, then get in touch with Dave from AJPS or Jay from Buddy Parts.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

Yup. Sounds about right. I don't know if they fit, but drilling should work. Hell, i'm using ae86 tops in my ae86 and i'll be drilling the towers anyway (just one of the 3 holes) to move the top of the strut back (caster).

From what I've read and seen, S13 camber tops are bloody close to fitting and a few minutes with a file will get them in.

Surely basic stuff is available for RA60 or RA65 Celicas. Otherwise check what MA61 stuff will fit.

Just remembered too, I once helped strip an SA63 and used some of the bits, like shocks from memory, in an AE86. So if that's correct, you should be able to drop any AE86 shock you like into your strut and match up a suitable spring, or convert to coilovers.

MA61 Gear DOES NOT fit. It will give you positive camber.

Throw some S13 front end gear in - Coilovers + camber tops (2mm of filing on the holes) Bluebird 990 tie rod ends, s13 etc (depending on how much track you wish to have and s13 brakes and hubs.

Rear end you can fit rear AE86 Springs and short stroke shocks.

I run this in mine and it's awesome.

The S13 gear was the original plan and the rear susp was going to be my next question...So S13 gear it is...

    Cheers everyone for the help
