Does anybody know why they put sweat bands around the clutch and brake fluid reservoir tanks??
is it like lagging to keep the heat in?or is/was it the style of the time??

Pretty sure it's just to stop spills. You see it mostly on track or street and track cars.

when fluid gets hot it expands

hence sock or simmilar to keep messsing up ur paint

    those fluids are corrosive as

if your fluid is getting so hot it boils you got much bigger problems then some fluid on your paint.

its not really done on race cars, mainly on GP bikes so they dont spill it when filling up not cause of overflow.

drifters use them purely for looks.
