can anyone help??
I have done a sr20 conversion and needed to cut a bit of my gearbox tunnel where the shifter sits and all the noises come through and piss me off... where can I get a custom boot made??? or how can I fix this problem and get rid of the noise???
I have put some thick rubber around the top of the gearbox and some sound deading but the noise still comes through.. any ideas???
can anyone help??
Weld some plates in there where there is a large hole. Then get any shifter boot and screw it down under the shifter console?
Use silicon or sound deadner to kill the sound.
I have never seen a place that does custom ones.
For putting a Nissan engine into a Sprinter, you deserve all the noise
Suffer in your jocks.
Seriously, I think welding in a section is the only option to fix it properly. Can you use the section you cut out, then install the original boot?
lol thanks
I didnt cut out a big piece just cut it back a couple of mm and on the sides.... I put rubber round it for now and speaker sound deading but it aint helping
You need some metal welded in to close up the gap and sound deadening. Even if you put on some of that stick on sheet stuff.
hmm yee I was speaking to some trimmer and he was telling me he has this material like 3 different layers of stuff you just stick on over it and no sound comes through is that what you are talking about???
do this
thats for a CA box
I'm making a few for some fellow CA conversionists, if the SR box is the same deal I could make you one.
I then screwed the stock 86 boot into place, it looks so factory it's not funny, thats in a 70 but it's the same deal.
Sounds like it. It is like the stuff stuck on to the inside of the floor pan.
Gilly
that is pretty much the same as a sr box but my hole is just a bit bigger can you plz make me one??? does that also help with all the noises coming through??? I can't upload a photo saying it's bigger them 1k when it's not...
Parrot
I think I know what stuff your talking about
thanx for the help
