Hey all.. just bought a jdm 4AGE kit to fit into my corolla wagon.
i was wondering if anybody has info on installing these, i have an ECU, loom, all sensors etc.. but with regard to cicuit opening relays and fuel cut relays- i'm abit lost. also the location to mount the ECU.. which is the best location?? I also have a VL external fuel pump for it, but is installing a swell pot with a secondary pump essential??
    i appreciate all help fellas.
    thanks alot.

There's already a swirl pot in the fuel tank (at least that's what I think it is.) It isn't "essential" to have a lift pump in there but it certainly does help.
On the surge tank issue. If you want to be able to drift (or turn a sharp corner for that matter) with a low level of fuel then it is a must. If my fuel tank is anything below 1/4 my car surges like crazy when skidding round a corner.
Easy fix is to just keep your fuel level above 1/4 That's what I do.

The other way to fix the problem is to fit a baffled version of the tank from a car that was efi from the factory. Being in a wagon you will struggle to find the correct fuel cell, as a jdm ae86 tank probably wont fit like it would in an AE71 sedan. The VL pump will struggle to suck the fuel up and out of the tank, so you will need a lift pump to feed it. Surge tanks as above. Please post in the correct area next time. Use the search feature on each forum. Its magic. This thread will probably be moved.

vl fuel pumps are designed to pressureise the fuel system and need a lift pump to operate as they have one in the tank.
so for a surge tank you need a lift pump feeding it and vl out.
