    Hi guys,

What is the possibility of fitting say, an evo 8 engine or an s2000 engine into a trueno, and what alterations would have to be made to accept either?

Being 4WD on the evo8 box, what would have to be done to the Trueno to keep it as a RWD?

Never done engine swaps so I dont know what im getting myself into.

Basically, i'd like a trueno that's pushing around 400bhp safely, that can be used as a daily driver... preferably a turbo'd motor... so if you guys know which engine swap does the best job at that power then please let me know... as well as what i'd have to do to do the swap....

    Thanks

    Taz

or.... u could just buy an evo 8 or an s2000, it would prob be similar...ish in price, and they would be just as fun, but yeh, not sure wat would have to be done to the evo 8 motor, prob custom bellhousing and clutch to mathc up to strong rwd box, other then that, all the usuals, custom engine mounts, loom computer, gearbox mounts, tailshaft, and other stuff,

same shit for s2000 motor but with out the AWD to RWD conversion,

and im not sure if a 2jz would exactly fit coz they are pretty long and would require either firewall hacking galore, or radiator mount hacking, :2thumbs:

anyway, good luck to ya money bags

absolutly stupid putting 400hp through a AE86 , the chassis would not handle that.
just buy a sivia if you want that type of power it will be a hell lot cheaper to do.

haha ive had visions somewhat similar to these lol..... 2jz will fit has been done before... 1jz better option more revy motor... but then again any 6cyl is gonna affect the weight so that all trates the ae86 has will be reuined.... 400bhp in a 86 will demosih the chassie pending tourqe.........

Get a 7age bottom end 20vblacktop head build it up and slap a supercharger on to the side of it..... you would have more than enough power.... i think on billzilla there is a dyno sheet on a similar motor that pushes 300 odd hp. but with turbo.......

but then again its ure car and you can do with it what u plz at the end of the day.

have you drievn a 200hp ae86 or been in one..?

do you realise how stupid of a power figure that is in a car that has a standard weight of aprox 950kg...?

and if you had one with that sort of power it would not be a daily driver. it would not be able to be drievn in the rain or death would occur.

either of those options are very expensive. neither make 400hp in standard form.

f20c (s2000) motor would be the pick of the 2 really. this conversion is popular in the US you may even be able to buy a cross member/mounts to suit it.

I agree with Just Half Steppin, stick with the Toyota family. Work your way to a cheap Toyota Supra donor car and prepare to put in the hard work.. Prob good idea to go DIY aswell 1j or 2j..

Btw 400bhp isnt going to happen without swapping diff and gearbox also suggesting brakes.. Correct me if im wrong but stock trueno running gear wasnt designed to run 400bhp..

    My 2c, Dillon

Edit: Better yet, just drive the Supra for daily..

    SR20DET

easiest to fit and get the power you want

you'll have to upgrade EVERYTHING if you want to safely run 400hp through that chassis.

i would assume you have not much technical experience, i would recommend sussing out the tech section of this forum and some of the members rides to see what guys can do with the power they have.

400HP is excessive for a daily

you will also require quite a large bank account,
