I'm halfway through putting a complete ae82 loom into my sprinter (front, rear and engine looms installed; dash loom still to go.) and i would like to know if it's been done before and what issues i might run into.

My reasons for doing this is that 1. I scored a free ae82 with a busted motor, 2. I really suck at auto-electrical stuff (working out what's wrong etc.), 3. I've already spent too much money on this stupid car and i'm looking to minimize costs by doing a bunch of stuff myself.

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated as i need the wiring sorted before i can put the interior back in and i need the interior back in by the end of the month so i can get her registered before i get my licence back.

    Thanks

You didn't have to use all the AE82 body loom. You could have stripped down the loom and just use the engine loom. You then give power to your coil like how your 4ac was given. There is a orange/black wire with bolt spade fitting. this goes to the +ve on the coil. You then give B+ 12v ign on the ecu. BF (injectors) will get power by itself as it shares power with the coil through a factory fuse in the loom that looks like a little diag plug. Give Batt a 12v constant for ECU memory and you are pretty much set. Then you either need to setup your Open Circut relay for fuel pump, or just rig up a 30AMP Relay ($15 dollars) for the fuel pump to turn on at ignition.

yeah, i suck badly at electrical stuff. though i did get everything working using the complete ae82 loom on the weekend. i'm rather proud of myself lol.
so far my worst problems are a dodgy brake lamp, interior light and door switches.
