bout to get some speakers in my 86 when i put a head unit in, where do most people put their speakers?

Understandably the front you have cutouts in doors or the little kick panels, but the rear confuses me.
Just in the parcel shelf or something?
Or where else can you put em... just looking at some 6" speakers or something basic.

    Any info would be great.

    Cheers

In the rear you can either put them into the parcel shelf or if you have really small speakers you could put them on either side of the parcel shelf where that pastic over hand is, id think only about a 4inch would fit in there, as for the front 4inch in the original holes.

Ive got a set of 4 inch spits and no rear speakers , but think ill have to get a really small sub just to balance the sound out, bit to much treble

most people make up a custom parcel shelf, you could go gilly spec and just use the magnet to stick them to the floor

Yer i dont have a parcel shelf with the car, i could get one off a mate, but its a good one.. dont wanna go cutting it up etc

Might go with just two speakers in the front door trims and see how i go, unless anyone reckons theres a much better way of doing it

and word of advice for cutting out door panels. u will know what i mean when u pull off the door panel to put in speakers/run wire. theres a cavity under the window winder which= win for putting speakers into. i made the mistake of not looking properly on the driver side door

I mounted my old better than stock speakers (that came with the car) in the rear corners of the boot.
I dont use my parcel tray, they are too old and flimsy.

It will do until i make a custom one to take my 6x9's
