I personally prefer using one you have to take off the car to adjust, the reason being it wont cop a few hits and start moving by itself.
BTW I am using a stock one modified to make it adjustable

on car is dope, just twist with one hand and watch the diff move sideways, sweet for getting perfect wheel fittiment.

vibrations can do the same as your hand too, no thanks I would rather do it with a jack, but I guess it depends on where and how you use your car.
To make it adjustable I chopped a section out, welded a peice of all thread in with one end machined down and welded a rod joiner on the other end. Want to see a pic?
