cant be done due to being seemwelded in middle!~

cant with long chump rims or the mk 1 2 3
JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET AS F*CK!!! hmmm, when you prenounce it properly, it sounds gayhow bout that.
you can't 'reverse' them per se', though you can change the width/offset. but it's expensive as you have to get custom outer wheelstock rolled. not to mention it involves lathing off the weld and bolting a new outer on.
not to mention the procedure would be illegal.
really, just keep your eyes peeled for high offset longchamps on yahoo or ebay.
sexy longchamps inside-
ssr very deepdish-

I have some ssr mesh that has been reversed on the way to me. When i take delivery i will be checking out how they have been done so that i can hopefully advise everyone else with the secrets lol!
Just looking at it from a logical standpoint (i have never actually seen how the inners are welded to the outers) one would think that it is possible to unbolt and grind/lathe off the welds, flips the inners, use a high tensile bolt and then stitch weld the inner back to the outer. While this may not be "legally safe", as with all of our modifications i think that if you exercise a bit of common sense and sense of personal preservation it is possible.
Having said that... rims from japan are readily available. And you can also get decent widths, not 6.5 junk. There are several site sponsors on this site, including myself, that are able and willing to import rims for a customer.
Edit- I do not recommend using this technique, nor do i support unsafe modifications on the road or the track.
Hope this helps,
Justin
please do not do this reversing modification
thanks
agreed
its doable and the wheel can/will stay intact, however it places alot of extra force on wheel studs, axle brearings, hubs etc
if you flipped a 6 inch rim you would end up with 4" off the mounting face and 2" inboard, all the force of cornering etc is now placed on that outside 4" section which is past the mount face.
i wish i had pics
EDIT: MS PAINT FTW!!!!
RE EDIT: can't upload paint pics WTF?!?!?
SCRUB RADIUS WILL BE AFFECTED ASWELL
