    Even a gt30 on a 4ag is more responsive than a stock big port with no turbo... When does the standard big port make useable power ? Never but for arguments sake things start to happen at 4500/4700.. These turbo setups would produce twice the power at 4500 than stock n/a and if they all wanted to could turn limiter up to 8500 giving a 4k rpm powerband or more... How's that for realism ?

    Hey mate I'm considering doing exactly the same intake setup that you have (except with a gtir plenu
    ). What can you tell me about your setup, was it more difficult to tune? Any drama's you came accross?

    Hey jason

    no real dramas,only thing with 20v throttles is the idle screws are counter sunk into the outer flange, to adjust them you need to
    have the plenum off, runs fine though as it is MAP censored.

    The GTIR plenum is pretty bulky and heavy, its a good starting point, standard they face the wrong way but Im sure you will
    adapt it to suit somehow.

    Also little update Im planning on changing the fuel to martini racing blended E85 116 octane
    car should run cooler, tune will be safer and more power, still a while off yet though

    with respect to e85, do it. mine runs 10deg cooler (the more you get up it the more it cools down), made an extra 40hp and comes on boost earlier. its all win.

    Sorry to interrupt this awesome build but the screws you mention are the adjustments for each individual throttle to calibrate and once set should never really be touched, the idle screws is different.

    Hey guys
    I made the change over to the martini racing E85, luckily enough for me that when I started building the 86 I had plans to use e85
    eventually, so my fuel lines, pumps and injectors were flow enough fuel and e85 compatible. I used Alphagomar flexforce6 hose with pushloc AN fittings, the only down side is
    I have the stock steel tank in place, which I'll have to replace very soon with a plastic fuel cell to prevent it being eaten away!!

    Friends of mine had been having trouble with fuel pumps dieing, E85 being ethanol based acts as a cleaning agent of sorts so we did a few little tests showed that if we put a bottle of wyns injector cleaner in with each tank of fuel it would provide some added lubrication to the fuel pumps.

    The car gained 40kw (260kw 8000rpm 20psi) and 100nm, its an animal now loving 3rd gear power skids also the exhaust fumes smell sweetly funky n all that jazz

    Im using an OS Giken twin plate, if feels great not heavy under pedal at all and very predictable, I bought it second and was a little skeptical as to how long it would last
    but seems to be loving life!

    I wasnt aware of that, they seemed to bleed air in behind the throttle increasing the idle, just like a carby you could hear the adjustment? How should I have done it? I have the first gen silver top throttles with the twin linkage, apparently not very common?
