pinging could be bad or old fuel.
when does the oil pressure go down ?
my oil pressure cold will be at 7 bar then when its hot it will go under 1bar
when its hot as soon as i rev it it will get bulk oil pressure
I'm having some issues with my engine because the moment i come on boost(i know i'm not supposed only being 100km old) it start's to ping it's head off.
Now i'm pretty sure my timing is set on 10deg BTDC so could it be that the ECU might need resetting.
Also the oil pressure gauge goes from 85psi(too high yes?) down to about 78psi. it always used to rise before i rebuilt the engine so what could be causing this problem?
Any help appreciated

I've checked that the mark is right and it's spot on.
Yeah 85 cold. i took it for a drive tonight actually for about 20mins and it didn't drop. yesterday it went down to about 60psi on idle after about 25 mins
It varied from 10 to 15 at 800rpm
I put a fresh tank in just before i went for a drive about 20 mins ago
It only goes down on idle after about 25 mins
No, i never have. It ran fine in my 71 and my 86 before it blew up.
with the oil pressure it could be the pressure relief valve stuck shut and not letting it bypass.
and for pinging did you use a thinner headgasket ?
Where about's is the relief valve?
I used a genuine ZE one
in the timing cover near oilpump you gota take sump off theres a circlip in the cover inthere is the spring and valve.
I cleaned that out spotlessly so there is no way it could be getting stuck
