Sam, doing the modification to it effectively removes the bias controll yeah, ie. equals out breaking force applied to the front vs the rear, yeah? So you wouldn't recommend doing this mod would you? (for the record im just checking as to if i need to do it, im running 4-pot AP Racing calipers up front and rx7 rear twin-pot with an R32 Master and s13 booster.)

nah im fairly sure its usualy set to like 75% front 25% rear there abouts and thats fixed theres no equaling out although i think ya can buy ones that do equal out unless thats part of ABS or something? when brakes are changed there might need to be more or less power sent to the rear brakes for extra or less braking power required to use the different brakes that have been fitted feel free to correct me if im wrong.

this mod does send much more braking to the rear but I dont know what ratio because I have massive front pistons that need a fair amount of fluid to do anything. The other thing it does it get rid of the pre-load which drum brakes need. If you gut the bias controler (I recommend it for anyone with disks) and its too much then fit a proper adjustable controller, then you can get exactly what you want.

Just for the record I beleive all factory cars have too much front bias, I beleive they do this for safety reasons where that you are going around a corner and the rear is already sliding a bit and you hit the brakes it wont spin.

its also for allround conditions as in, in the wet and on dirt roads and dry bitumen roads where if it was set up purely for dirt for example there would be more power to the rear brakes than on a bitumen road because theres not going to be as much weight transfer to the front wheels when the brakes are applied
