yeah creaked twice. prob not a good thing but can't be all bad.

almost sounded like welds popping off. but couldn't find anything sus when i checked

time for an update.

there was a liitle bit of rust growing in along the firewall so i had to operate. i cut that shit out, welded in some fresh bling and bogged it up.


i also decided it was time to paint the underside of the car and the engine bay so i did that too

yeah, the exterior colour is going to be porcelione bleau...

... it is an opel colour, the same colour as what is on damo's car. it has since been renamed kamikaze blue.

i will be doing the interior the same. so far it seems to go really well with the black, so should be good

why do so many people do the under side of the car and engine bay black?, yes it hides dirt a bit easier, but if you had a oil leak wouldnt you want to see where it is? hence painting it a light color?

did you ever think that maybe the reason i painted it black is to hide any oil leaks.

like the title of the thread says its a track only car. in a light engine bay it is easier for marshals to see shit they don't like. hence less likely they will fuck me around as much.

however seeing as every single seal is new and i check over my car regularly before and after every event i dont see a black engine bay as a problem.

you will also notice that oil leaks from the engine and not the bay itself. my engine is painted a flat black. ie no shine. and seeing as oil glistenes when light is put on it it will show up easily when i look for it.

There will be not much other than the engine in they bay, so leaks will/can be easily spotted.

Also having a hoist, readily available to use makes it easy to spot leaks after events.
This car will pretty much live on the hoist when its not being driven at events anyway.
