why cant u get it lic?is it because its too old,too much rust.
if you want bring your gearbox over to my work and you can strip it there. i gotz the toolz and the know how.
yeah the cleaning was fucked up. i scrubbed the fucking thing then wire wheeled it all down. then wire wheeled all the paint off for where i want to weld.

not sure it was something along the lines of it tried to be registered before and was denied. they have on records not to register this car. kinda sucks but doesnt really matter much. when i eventually get the notchback off ben i will register that instead.
this is what was in it. pos.
anywayz. here is the motor i got for it so far
this is what it will look like when its in. sort of
on stand and then stripped
i then put it back together after i had the head cleaned up and slight shave. using a trd head gasket. i also mounted the alternator using rwd bracket
i will do a seperate post on the water system. its hell neat and quite a mix
this is looking great so far, cant wait for updates. and i didnt know that you could mount the standard gearbox from the 4a-c to a 4a-ge, will the adm box fit to 16v 4a-ge's.
surely will
some more pics
had to cut out a piece of rust. just welded in a new peice of metal and filled it over. update the finish tomo
some spot welding in the engine bay. this was my first time with a mig welder
pretty much going over the whole car and spot welding everything.
so far have only done underneath and the inside.
Has it farted at all when you have been welding ?
how hard is it to spot weld?
how long did it take you to do the bay?
don't know about farting. only bad splatters when i was welding underneath.
it isnt hard to spot weld. this was my first time welding and 99.9% of my welds were on target and penetrated.
preperatin is the key. make sure you take away all the paint were your welding, also a really good earth close to the weld. if you get these 2 points right you will be ok.
i didn't take it back to paint on one weld, made a big ball which fell on my arm and exploded. i now have a nice burn all over my arm.
ive spent a shit load of time on this so far. lost count of how many hours taken. includint completely stripping the car, degreasing, wire wheeling, preping for weld including removing all body sealant(including wheel arches) and welding itself prob bout just over 100 hours

this has got to be the best looking 20v ive EVER seen
but it pisses me off when people assume your hooning cos your car is loud, has bald tires, a roll cage, fresh bake and dinted bumpers!!
Or driving in a wolf pack.
