Hi guys, just a quick question before I go and order some tyres for the new rims.

Will 225/50/15 fit on the rear of a sprinter, on an 15x8 inch rim with around a 0 offset, without any guard mods? The suspension is a little lowered, but nothing dramatic or major.
    Or should I get 205/50/15?

What do you think I would be better off getting?
Btw, I'm NOT going 195/50/15 on an 8 inch rim

Cheers guys, any help would be appreciated.

    i have 14x7's with -9
so fairly close to 8's with 0.
stretching 165's over them, im still worried about them hitting the guard over a big bump (with pritty stiff springs n shocks)
oh and its lowered to bout tyre meeting guard level.

i reckon yours will fit with a slightly bigger tyre...
but u will deffs have to cut away/bend up the inner bit of the arch lip thing

    hope i helped.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (patience @ Nov 1 2007, 12:34 PM) </div>225/50 will probably rub on gaurds even if you roll them because of the increased width/profile hence over diameter being bigger and they will bulge on 8's and look homo.

What is your aversion to 195/50's on 8's??? AE86 is a light and that tyre is capable of proving plenty of grip up to 200 hp provided you get decent tyres (not cheap crap) otherwise please don't go any bigger than a 195/55 or 205/50, it will look like a tractor!!! And 8's 0 offeset will need rear lip rolled (Seen Superlites 15x8 -4 195/50 AOK)

Basically as the 195/50s are only rated to 7inch max. I won't be drifting the car so I don't want stretch or whatever, it will be for grip/daily purposes, so I don't want the tyre popping off or failing.
    I'll be running Toyo T1Rs.
I'm leaning away from the 225s now

T1Rs have very mixed reviews, there are far better tyres available for similar $.

Also 195's will not pop off 8's - I use 215/45s on 9s on my daily - no worries

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chapl @ Nov 1 2007, 01:46 PM) </div>Thanks mate, thats what I needed to hear.

I'll give the T1Rs a go, my tyre shop (Keith 4 wheels) are a very good bunch, and recommended them over the new Adrenalins and other tyres.
I'm getting the 195/50s for $150 each balanced and fitted, so can't complain

yeh id reccomend the 205/50 as well.

It may rub on your guard depending how low it is.

Id reccomend rolling your guards as a bit of a safeguard.

See how they fit first though.
