after a new daily as my e7 is a little dead at the moment.
have found a cressida glx-i with a 5mge [i think thats engine modle] single cam in it.
its only done about 125XXX on the odometer,
but someone has broken into it at some stage [drivers door lock is a little loose, new drivers window with darker tint]
its at a car yard [boo]
has little bit of a tappet noise,
looks like its had a leak about rocca cover that the car yards cleaned up.
needs new rear kicks and rego.
they claim its had comp test etc and is all running sweet
the body looks fuckin clean as, straight and original by the looks.
service history upto about 60XXXkm
just wondering whats the most you'd pay for this,
any known real issues with single cam 5Ms,
and how much juice approx would an auto boat like this thing chew..

single cam is 5me
twin cam is 5mge stock in a jdm
people put 6mge, 7mge and turbo versions in them, even 1/2jz's.
holy grail for the toyota "M series" engine is a 7mgze. only ever 1 reported in being made and there's not many pics around of it. no alternator in the pictures because he put the charge where the alternator should be. i dont think he ever put it in a car.
5me's are like 4ac's. hunks of junk that are practically unbreakable if you look after them.
the car would use about as much fuel as a 6cylinder camry
if you need a cheap daily thats cheap on fuel i suggest a 4AGE AE82

yeah, an AE82 would be alright. didnt even think of them...
but the cressy would look like a rad cruiser with a set of wheels and put on the decks.

Be careful, as the 5ME and 7MG(T)E's are notorious for blowing Head Gaskets, so don't let them get too hot if you end up buying it.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

talk to jarryd on here, he was selling a 86 cressy with a 5mge(yes twin cam) for like a grand, i never saw fotos but from what i heard sounded alright, i almost bought it, but then i didnt(not very logical as a delivery car, bit big, but pimp as cruisers!), he sed fuel economy was pretty good, like a tank gettin 500-600 k's!
but im not sure, u should buy his if he stil ahs it,
