<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (UNDRGRND D0GF1GHT3R @ Nov 10 2007, 01:08 PM) </div>well, with more power it takes less effort for the engine to maintain a higher gear at high speeds. :2thumbs: for instance, my 4AC needs to do 3000 rpm to hold 75 mph, im sure a 4AGE needs only 2500 rpm.

No, actually thats gear ratios. a 50hp car could do 2000rpm at 100kph if it were geared correctly. A 600hp car could be doing 6000rpm, if geared that way.

I get about 550kms out of about 45-50 liters from my rb20det laurel.
    That translates to 9-10L/100km

I really don't see how a "true" car enthusiast wouldn't be interested in a more efficient car.... Thats half the essence of japanese cars. Only an american v16 12 liter american barge with leaf springs lover could not care about efficiency/economy.

I tottaly agree, I plan on having good economy with my new engine build, there are many mods that can be done that make the economy no worse when you take it easy.

Most figures you get are useless if you don't know the driving conditions. Just around the suburbs I get just under 10ltre/100km. But chuck it on the high way and I can get 7ltre/100km.
Also, just for the record, what's the size of a 4age fuel tank? 45 litres?

    4ag fuel tank..?

depends what its in, most would be 40L ke70/ae71 is 40L

i get about 350-400km's from my 4ac, thats 80km's highway driving i took the "old highway" home from work and there are a few tonws where you slow down t 60km's etc it was full when i left and it was down to 2/3 when i got home. i did over take 2 cars so there where a few revs on it then but it was only over 50km's and i wasn't speeding.

but yes, depends how you drive, if you ring it out each gear and stick the boot into it coming out of corners, away from traffic lights etc..

cant wait for efi though heheh

an ae86 tank is 40L, people have tried to argue with me before on this one but I have ran it till it had fuel surge with my baffled tank around the lighest corners and then filled it up. When i did tested I needed only about 3L to stop most fuel surge and when I filled it up those times I put 37.5 to 38L into it.

I dont care how much fuel it uses, aslong as it makes the most power it can.

I have a bit of a rich tune atm since my injectors were cleaned, and I still get 500-550klm out of my 50 litre tank. Blacktop 4A, ancient t50, standard Borg diff. Oh and I rev the shit out out of it, every time i drive.
