my grandparents gave me their car... for a daily

it's still in their name and they get CHEAP rego on it, but i pay the full price for their other car... i don't want to rip off my own grandparents...

I've had one of my cars in parents names for years, its tacked on to their insurance and is as cheap as it gets.

They even pay my parking tickets sometimes when they get sent the reminders...

Well, for most of you, good luck if you ever have to claim on that insurance...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (floody31 @ Nov 26 2007, 11:39 PM) </div>it does work the thing is that parents get it cheaper cause they have a rating one and then it only cost an extra $40 to put me on the covered drivers list for the car. The down side is i will not get a rating one for a long time

My insurance is in joint names with my father, the policy gets the effect of his 60% no claim bonus discount, each year my rating improves and if i were to make a claim it doesnt effect his rating. (he couldnt really afford to have his rating drop, to much $$ worth of trucks and machinery insured under his name, his premiums would sky rocket...)

Pity can only get this through 1 insurance company, and they're tassie based
