So i have a set of 14x9 and 14x8.5 rims coming soon, im looking for tyres to put on them when they get here.

Been doing some crazy searching over the last few days, all I can come up with is wak profile 205/60 r14's or Kuhmo 225/50 R14's but they are a race tyre and cost an arm and a leg.

What I would really like is a 205/55 R14 or 215/55 R14 but no-one makes them that I can find.

I don't want spastic stretch and more grip isn't a downside so if anyone knows of some wider tyres without increasing rolling diameter, your words would fall on welcome ears.

    Or some pics of a 195/60 R14 on a 9" rim.

    Any help is appreciated

    Cheers

Nankang EX-601 or GT Radial Champiro in 205-215/60r14... but the 60 series blow out the diameter too much.

Toyo Proxes RA1s in 205/55r14 & 225/50r14... but they are expensive, have poor comfort/fast wear/prone to aquaplaning...

Bridgestone Eager S330 or Yokohama Y352 in 245/50r14... both the same price, both readily available

    Yokohama's on 14x9

    Toyo's on 14x9

I didn't like the bulge I got from the Yoko's (and they sat proud of my flares) so I opted for the Toyo's and their mild stretch. I don't think there is anything inbetween - I searched for ages.

i had a pair of those yokohamas

i used them to keep my rusty read 86 shell off the ground

i just can't take any tyre seriously that uses merely the letter "A" as the basis of their tread pattern

i gave them an A++ for filling in as jackstands

Gilly: yeah they were pretty shit. Took em back asap and ordered the Toyo's instead.
TheNewKid: cost me $245 a tyre in 205/55... only took a couple of days to order in.
