Knocking from Gearbox

When in second gear (only second) there is a knocking noise coming from the gearbox. It still drives but sounds unhealthy. It only just occured when I took the car for a spin to test the brakes after changing the fluid. I wasn't really giving it much, It seemed to come out of nowhere, I went around a corner at about 3500rpm in second and accelerated out to about 5500rpm, smooth change into third, T intersection approaching, pressed on the brakes, clutch in, back to second/first. Stop at T instersection ease out of first into second and the knocking begins. Coast it home about 1km without using second gear.

Any ideas? New gearbox time?

sounds like my first, short lived T50, but on a milder scale

i was missing 7 teeth off 2nd, you have probably only lost a few. either way though.... well done !

wondering if I should go another T50 or just solve the problem with a W58

I drove around with my box doing that in 2nd for a couple of months. Included a few hills runs, no drifting though.

It will last a while still, but try to avoid second.

I wouldn't bother upgrading if your keeping the 4age, will cost you around $1500-$2000 to upgrade to a W58.

Thats a fair few T50's
