nice. i like 4a's but they're too expensive to get right up there. 1j is easy and cheap.

thanks for the info guys. somethin to look into.
hopin gutted, caged with motor to sit at under a tonne, with a good 250kw, slicked up with a shit load of gas, and a good auto should crack a ten
and she's not gettin registered, i'd kill myself.

and that 4a, on methanol, more gas would go nuts.

You should be able to crack into 10's easy.

Theres a stock turbo'ed worked 1jz Soarer that does high 11's (Full interior trim, no slicks)

Hmmm, one thing... It would not be cheaper to build a drag sprinter than a drift sprinter..... Actually, it would be much more expensive.
Simply saying "Rotors suck" does not make the rotary engine bad..... A mate of mine has an FC rx7 drift car, has had it for about 2 years, street drifts alot and track drifts when he's in town.... It has been the moat reliable out fo all of our cars... ranging from my N/A hachi roku (shock) to silvias, skylines..... Only one who hasn't had a motor blow up..... Go figure

Also keep in mind you'll probably have lots of trouble getting the power down, the 2jz drag sprinter has bags of pebbles over the rear wheels.

    good for you bud!!
i would really like to see this 86 rip it down the qtr.
as much as i like this forum, why must there be a constant influx of bullshit. he was asking if there where any drag cars in oz
not what to put in his 86...(i know i'm adding bullshit now!)

...anyhow back on topic...i was considering putting a big motor, 1/2jz hybrid donk in my 86...but sadly money went to
    college fees.

keep it up..keen as beans to see an 86 at the drags.
    AE86....robbing me! check the build.

    ^^thanks mate

number 1 i dont like rotors. i understand them, i have seen tff ones that last and arent shit boxes. BUT for what i am looking at acheiving it cant be done with a rotor reliably, it can be with a 1j.

as for them suckin they do. and if ur mates car lasted longer than the rest of ur mates cars, that may be because he knows how to maintain his car.

and where not tlkin little shitbox wannabe takumi drift cars. i am tlkin truely competitive cars, tell me where there is a competitive drift car, competing everychance with only 10k spent. it costs alot more to build a drift car that works then it is to do a dragcar.

as for traction, an auto and slicks help a shitload, so does knowin how to setup a decent 4link.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gunbz-r @ Jan 15 2008, 07:02 AM) </div>should be interesting to see a fully tubbed drag car hachi... if it's a dedicated drag car it won't matter so much but the 1j is a lonnggg motor isn't it
