Traction and me, were not meant to be...
it happens all the time. i constantly get sent fake emails from ebay about updating account details. in the email it all looks legit, even the email address etc but when you click the link it goes off to another server that isnt ebay. thats how i noticed when i almost got done. i click the links still when i get the emails but when it comes up with the fake username and password page i put in "fuckyou" for the username and "youbigcock" for the password.
just watch everything you do when on the internet or soon youll watch your bank balances go down.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Javal @ Jan 31 2008, 03:06 PM) </div>No, that's bullshit. It happens all the time if you're not careful.
Usually they'll get your username / email / password from a myspace / facebook spam / scam thing ('OMG, FREE MACY"S $500 GIFT CARD / ZOMG, CHECK OUT THIS HOT CHICK').
If the password / username is the same for you hotmail account, they have access to your email.
If it's the same for your ebay account, they have access.
Happens more than you'd think.
You just gotta be aware.

Except that would be Phising, not hacking, and two tottaly different things.
The only kind of person that ever gets tricked by Phising are computer illiterates, or just idiots in generally on myspace.
Theres only a certain type of group who ever get caught by phising, and you'll find that they "uSulY TyeP LieK DiZ"
And from what i gather, slide86 isn't one of those.
I got a couple of emails from ebay in the last 2 weeks that seemed sus... They both offered free $20 into my paypal account to spend on ebay. I should have deleted the first one but I logged into paypal through the email and transferred the $20 into my bank account (and it went through). Two days later I got another one which makes it seem a bit dodgy. Has anyone else recieved these? are they legit?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (crackett @ Jan 31 2008, 04:18 PM) </div>PM me details![]()
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tyrie @ Jan 31 2008, 04:36 PM) </div>Erm..which website did you log into with your ebay details?
If its not the actuall ebay website...you might wnat to change your password right this second.
Actually I was wrong, first email was from paypal saying ebay had put $20 in my account. The money was real and is now in my bank account. The second email was from ebay saying they had given me the $20. .
So it all seems legit, but I'm waiting til the offer expires to see what happens.
I swear this happened to us.
I think someone hacked our computer, and looked up SHITLOADS of porno sites. Then whenever you turn the computer on, you get popups of chicks with a face full of jizz and shit. Wasnt the greatest.
But that sucks dude. Hopefully you get the bitch back.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Klutch @ Jan 31 2008, 04:04 PM) </div>This is the truth, i never thought it was a 'hack' so to speak, i'm 90% sure that slide86 has been phished.
It happens, one little slip up and they've got you.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
