any thing to do with welding your chasis, can you please post it here.

welding speed. wire thickness. body pep. whatever it may be. not enough soild info on google. and on the forums alot of people saying they have done it on there cars, but don't really go into depth about it .

    thanks in advance.

ps. once i get the info i want ill be doing a write up of the process from start to finish to help others out.

Well for welding, generaly you want a MIG welder of some sort. Use thin wire, about 0.6mm. Use gas of course. There will be a amp or volt selector switch. Put it on about 3 to start with. Have wire speed at about 3 also.

    You will blow a hole...

To fill up a hole, reduce than amps, and increase the wire speed.

also don't just weld from front to back, you will need to do the opposite ends of the car at a time i think, this way it wont twist the chassie, oh and also this is a longgg slow process so take your time, not the kind of thing you want to rush because if you do you could fuck your chassie

0.7mm with gas, thats what I use and I can butt weld two 0.7mm thick peices of sheet together (admitedly looking a bit shitty though). That size is particully well suited to pannel work and is the only size we use here at my work making trucks.

Another issue I've heard of from Jez is that the weld tends to pool on the side of the join to which you have connected the earth strap. So consider making up a secondary earth strap to make a very good electrical connection between both sides of the join.

Make sure your chassis is completely clean, like inside the joints and such. When you try and weld on shit like glue, and whatever little things like sound deadening residue and seam filler, it starts to splatter and make welding hard and disgusting.

So have a hook to pick it out, and a wire wheel at hand to clean it.

    Stich weld, not seam weld.
There is nothing like spending ages removing bent panels from a fully seam welded car.
where as with a stich weld, its alot easier to grind off, remove panel.
