My coil is arching like CRAZY!!!

From both the positive AND the negative. It looks to be a constant arch as well.

    bluetop 4AG.

    Any insight?

is it arching from the middle to the pos and to the neg if so it could be cracked, if not change the coil lead electricity is lazy it will go to the place with less restance.

you should also be able to hear a tick tick tick tick. really fast as it archs. mine did this. so i changed the coil and high tension lead and it still did it. had absolutely no effect on performance, electrics or anything. so i just left it. looks cool at night though. and you can get it to arch to your finger if you put it close enough. doesnt hurt like a distributer zap.

ok, have u checked ur earths?

does the coil appear to be in good condition? (cracks, leaks etc)

have u checked the rsistance of the coil lead? (13k ohm per 30cm i think some one confirm that please)

if u can get ur hands on another coil, doesnt have to be the same model, just the same type of coil will work. try it and see if the problem still occurs

also check the coil with a multimeter for resistance, across the neg and pos terminals, and then from the charge outlet (where the lead goes) and then the neg, might be the pos.

i will have to find my textbooks, unless some one else can confirm that, which I'm sure someone will.

thats all i can come up with sorry dude

Swapped out the coil and the wire. I'll double check the earthing to see that everything is properly grounded.
Also threw in a new battery after exchanging it today. The old one was crap.

God bless the 3 year warranty.
