From what I know, the excel g shocks are fairly normal replacement shocks? Not really a stiff adjustable shock. So maybe the 8kg springs would be a bit too stiff for them. Sure it will work, the car just won't handle the best. About 6kg/mm front springs are the limit for many replacement shocks for good handling.

The excel g is a standard replacement shock yes, but being from a heavier corolla it has stiffer valving. I have found it to be surprisingly good at keeping up with 8kg front springs although it could be slightly stiffer, more so on rebound.
