so basically, if i can sell myself to the interviewer aswell as i can sell to customers, prove I'm serious and be able to seperate bs from the money i should be right?

yeah basically show that you're confident i.e. like i said sell yourself and show that you're there to make money....salesman are hungry for money (as is everyone but dealership boss's love to hear that)...basically don't worry about all the bullshit about cars and whatever if they ask you why you're there and what you hope to get out of the job...you say i wanna make money...lotsa money

they would rather someone located in the eastern suburbs, its alright the guy was a rude prick, my mrs hooked me up with this recruitment agency, turns out i used to service the guys pulsar, so he's gone out of his way, and sent me info, and shit.

once again thanks man ur advice helped alot tho(with the second interview anyway)

this other dude suggested i just walk into yards ask for the sales manager, and to tell them i wanna make money, sounds like a plan, he's given me a list of his contacts to try so i should be right, and all i can think about is makin a shitload now so if thats what it takes i will be right

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gunbz-r @ Feb 12 2008, 04:58 PM) </div>thats mad, well done mate...i'm happy i helped even a little...its a very rough industry if you get what i mean and no one will help you thats already in it...its just the way it is...i'm happy to help ya if you get a job and you have any questions...but also your manager or boss is a good source..they love it when you have questions about how you can improve (don't forget that the more you improve it means the more money you'll make) but even they sometimes don't want to share all the secrets or information that took them years to find out...within 7 months i have learnt what others have learnt with 10 - 20 years experience because i'm working with a bloke who is like my mentor and i'm still learning...apparently you never stop learning in this industry and you'll constantly fuck up but its ok as long as you know how you fucked up and ask yourself what you coulda done different to get the deal...

and don't think you know everything.
the worst thing you can do is be cocky...even if you're a gun salesman...you always gotta think like you're a cadet and you do everything step by step

ah k, i understand, its like in the performance industry, ull always get just enough info to build upon, one thing i have learnt about the auto industry in the last 5 yrs, and i have had a go at most trades, is u can never stop learning there is too many aspects to a vehicle any sort of vehicle to ever stop learning.

mate I'm g'd up for it haven't felt like i've wanted to do something this much since my first day at rigoli motorsports, and that was 17yr old enthusiasm lol. now i have realised how much money i could potentialy make, I'm all for it, I'm sick of bein broke, and iwant to finish my cars all of them lol. i know i have the drive to do it, and every experienced person i have spoken to have all said the same thing and i have understood it everytime, so I'm confident i can do it.

so once again dude thanks for the advice, u helped me get the ball of thought rolling, so i have nothin but the upmost respect for ya mate.

    Rhys.
