i'd test the plug with a test light to see if it has power or not.
not sure about the vacuum canister, but why would you want to disconnect it?
hey,
i've got the tvis out of the car coz it wasn't working.
the little vacuum inlet was blocked so i've cleaned that out, and replaced the hoses.
i was just wondering if anyone knows if the TVIS wiring plug has 12v in "on" on the ignition??
and can you bypass the vacuum canister, to have the actuator diaphram straight to the inlet manifold without dramas's??

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (4AGE - 86 @ Feb 25 2008, 07:54 PM) </div>no i don't want to disconnect it at all,
the reason was i checked the plug and had no voltage with the ignition at "on" position,
so i've bypassed the canister scared that i didn't have power to the solenoid,
the TVIS butterfly actuator goes straight to vacuum now,
all works sweet now,
cheers for the reply andy,
it wouldn't have any voltage at the on position, because it would be off until TVIS was activated, then it should have power.
doesn't really matter if it is working now though![]()
You want the vacumm can thingo --- or i suppose the buttiflies might close at high rpm due to lack of vac, or close to 0 anyways..... I took tvis off completly.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jazz9 @ Feb 26 2008, 10:10 PM) </div>the butterflys are open at their rest position,
they use the manifold vacuum to close in the bottom half of the rev range,
the reason i want it working is coz it's a pig to drive with it disconnected you go no where under 3,000rpm,
that and you loose a significant amount of torque without them working,
and it uses lots of fuel as well...
Where does the blue plug plug into????
the tvis butterfly has the vacuum actuator and surge tank part but needs to be plugged into a blue plug can u help me out?
