TWO teenage P-plate drivers have had their cars confiscated over a street race in Sydney's west.

Police said highway patrol officers spotted a Toyota Sprinter and a Honda Civic allegedly street racing about 11.15pm (AEDT) yesterday in Cumberland Highway at Canley Heights.

Both cars were allegedly travelling at speeds in excess of 110km/h in an 80km/h zone when pulled over.

The 18-year-old male drivers of both cars were charged with street racing.

Their cars were towed away.

The pair are due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on March 25.

yeah it seems to happen all the time. a few 15 year olds were caught at pizzy skate park on the gold coast last week doing... i quote the gold coast bulliten... "burnouts and dohnuts"!!! good luck with that in a 1990 camry. the kid crashed into a barrier. no disrespect to the camry though... it is a toyota after all
