don't go Koni, they blow seals after 6 months even if they are good performing shocks and are pretty expensive. Had this happen to a few mates.
i'd go KYB Excel G as a cheap base shock, or TRD Blue if you got coin.
My vote? super short stoke KYB Excel G Sierras, when combined with 6kg springs the ride is bloody good.
RT142 Estate.
AJPS.
i got falcon springs i think? there blue ? and kyb sierra shocks. its alright except lifts a wheel heaps but i can live with it i guess.. just thought that it wouldn't b too good for the shock to hold the diff up then its on stands. the springs r compressed by the shock being at its full length.

not all konis don't blow seals after 6 months. infact i have never seen a set of konis blow seals after 2 years.
i have had the same pair of konis in my car for 2 years. they are set to the maxium hard setting and i got them second hand they would be atleast 7 years old.
konis are hard to find short stroke. mine are standard stroke and i got em for free.
i don't think they are a quality product but they are not as bad as they are made out to be. i know of several cars that have them and have been going strong for years.
Koni do make awesome product, its just not the stuff most people buy, the real trick gear is super dear, and no body outside the racing community seems to know about them, i tried.

case in point, i wanted 2 of these and

2 off these for a project, $7000  if i bought all 4 as a set.
I've never had a problem with koni's. and besides, if they ever blow out, just send them back for a free reco.
