Hey guys ive recently converted my 4agze to 4agte its runs fine with the stock afm electrics but there is a problem with the bov when off acceleration. It does not vent to air or release any boost at all .. It is not a plumbback type and it seems its just making the turbo surge off accelleration.. What could be causing the bov not to do its job ? Ive tested numerous brand new bov's and still it will not open. If this matters i have it right next to the intake manifold on the engine.

Here are the pics of the setup

i hooked up my BOV vaccum lines to one of those blue lines you have blocked up (throttle body)

    try them instead

yeh i'd try one of the other lines you can even tee into lines if you want ei fuel reg line does your boost guage work well (boost and vac) also don't want to ask stupid questions but is it unscrewed I'm pretty sure you can lossen your spring tension, well you can on mine, so maybe try that

on another note is that a ally watter bottle on the bottom left of the first pic your using for a catch can or something

it looks as though that vacuum line is taught? move it. if not find vacuum.

I think EvoSti had a problem like this ages ago. Turned out that the little vacuum restrictor thing (Black bit which screws into the manifold and has 3 vacuum ports coming out of it) was too restrictive to run a BOV properly. He fixed it by tapping a 1/4" line directly into the manifold.

Also check the BOV actually moves properly. If you take it off you should be able to push the piston up a bit by hand to prove it's not siezed internally or some junk.

PS, I forgot myself enough to offer serious advice, what you should really do is bin the BOV and dig the sick VL style dose*

Hey clearly not the bov as 3 different types don't work.. its my setup/vaccum source i am told... Ive tried to put it in the throttlebody ports with no luck teeing all the 3 port vaccum plug to give a better vaccum to bov but still no luck.. A mate of mine has a gt starlet and hes bov is straight after the turbo we tested my bov on hes and it blows off on idle and at 0- 2 postive pressure ..Something is really weird, I continue to drive the car with 6-7psi without bleeding the boost.. could this harm my turbo short term ?

Yeah I'm sure, I did the conversion ages ago. I rebuilt the engine and everything. I recognize the distinctive washer bottle and the intercooler mounts. It has a heavy metalic paint right? I sold it like 12 months ago, good to see it still kicking!
