The BeeR limiter will work.
I read (admittedly in a mag ages ago) that the BeeR works by grounding out the ignition output(s) when the rev limit is reached. Therefore no spark, therefore flames out the exhaust.
You can do the same on the coil on your 4AC (or any other carbed car). The coil negative wire is earthed through the points and sparks when the points open and the wire is no longer earthed. If you wire the BeeR up so that it earths the coil negative wire above the rev limit it will work as normal.
And if you use the above shift light technique, rather than using a relay, use a transistor. They are slightly more complicated to setup, but are smaller and far more reliable when switching often and fast.

Sounds like you just want the flamage and backfiring and not really much else. Don't worry about rev limit if you want to drift with a 4ac, it wont die anyway.
Know any autosparky's? Get him to hook up a switch with a sparkplug in your exhaust and all the rest, so when you hit it it will ignite the raw fuel, same effect but cooler.

That is all.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
cut a hole in ur exhaust weld a nut screw in a spark plug wire it up on a switch BINGO! instant fun!
Bingo maybe if you ran it rich all the time, you would need raw fuel delivery aswell to make it REALY worth it haha flame-thrower anyone?
go buy one from jaycar and assemble it, they're about $50 and have the neat led's like the bee*R.
they also have a hysteria adjustment for soft or hard limits
the jaycar kit he is talking about is this one
i just found it, thanks brenno for letting me know about that
its heaps cheaper than the way i was describing above, 35$ is a bargain!

I've actually got one with a 4 led(3 green, 1 red) display for the shift point and a adjustable limiter when the red comes on.
I'll be buggered if i can find the kit now, might have been a DSE kit
