Sounds like the idle curcuit is blocked. Remove the idle mixture screw and use compressed air and blow it out. this should work if not you might have to remove the top of the car and see if there is shit in the fuel bowl.
i was havin very similar probs with my 4ac the other day n couldnt figure it out, so i chucked on another carby n all is good

Yeah tomorrow after work i'm going to rip the whole thing off and go nuts on it, blast out the fuel filter and see how it goes from there.
However tonight i'm going to take it for a thrash and attempt to 'blow the cobwebs out'![]()
